AIM and SCOPE:

4 th International Workshop “Quantum Particles and Fields” will be held on September 19 – 24, 2005 in Zagulba Settlement, Baku, Azerbaijan. The Workshop is to provide a forum for scientists employed with modern problems of Quantum Field Theory, Fundamental Interactions of Elementary Particles (Theory and Experiment), Physics of Detectors of Particles and Radiations.

In September of the years of 2002, 2003 and 2004 the Institute of Physics, National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, organized successive International Workshops on High Energy Physics in Baku, Azerbaijan. The Workshops were supported by the Institute for Theoretical and Experimental Physics (ITEP, Moscow) and by the Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP, Trieste). In these Workshops together with scientific presentations, the lessons for students from Azerbaijan, Russia, Ukraine and Georgia were conducted.

Studies in the domain of elementary particle physics become of increasing importance. When the Large Hadron Collider experiment begins taking data in the year of 2007, particle physics will have finally reached an important frontier with cutting-edge threshold energies and fundamentally new physics will have been discovered. Discussions of theoretical models and other issues involved in understanding the results of the ensuing experiments is particularly timely. The Advanced Research Workshop that we are proposing is a unique forum for such a discussion with physicists who work on both theoretical and experimental aspects of the problem. Theoretical and experimental issues related to the physics of detectors will be considered in the light of modern technologies, including those based on physical phenomena at the nanoscale.

The Workshop will be held in "Ganclik" International Tourist Centre, in Zagulba Settlement, Baku, Azerbaijan. This Centre is located in the northeast part of Apsheron peninsula, on a picturesque coast of the Caspian sea, which may take about 20 minutes drive from the city centre. The total area of the Centre is 16 hectares including 5.5 hectares of green planting area. A special transport will be organized from airport to the Centre and back. Guarded parking, bars, tennis-court, billiard-room, indoor swimming pool and sauna are also available. The distance from the main buildings to special beach is about 400 meters.

CONFERENCE FEE

Conference fees including daily three time meal service for 6 days is 200 $.
These fees are to be paid in cash after arrival to Baku.
